Watchdogging the Budget Crisis

Welcome California Democracy Matters Chapters!

We have all heard about the mess in Sacramento. A gridlocked legislature has missed budget deadline after budget deadline, dragging a financial crisis out even longer than the skeptics had suspected. Democracy Matters wants to make sure that politicians and the public who elect them know the real effects of this budget crisis. We invite DM chapters to research the ways in which the budget crisis and budget cuts will effect their schools, their students loans, and their communities. Spend some time making sure that politicians are held accountable for the problems that affect student's, and not just the problems of other interests.

Please post any information, research or thoughts about how the California Budget Crisis is and will effect students here. Chapters are encouraged to share information, and use their shared research to host discussions and debates on campus, raising awareness.
